What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?
The United Nations has set 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to protect the planet and ensure the well-being of humanity by 2030.
The SDGs were agreed upon by countries affiliated to the United Nations (UN), including the Netherlands. The 17 goals were created based on global input from organizations and individuals and provide a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and in the future. The Sustainable Development Goals started in 2015 and will run until 2030. They are a global compass for challenges such as poverty, education and the climate crisis.
