Recycled polyester

By using recycled polyester, we decrease our dependence on virgin petroleum-based materials. Recycled polyester is made from post-consumer waste, such as plastic bottles, which reduces the need for virgin materials and conserves resources. Additionally, the production of recycled polyester requires less energy and emits fewer greenhouse gasses than the production of virgin polyester. The post-consumer waste use of recycled polyester supports the development of a circular economy, in which materials are reused and recycled, rather than being discarded after use. However, it is important to note that recycled polyester is not a perfect solution, as it can shed microplastics when washed, which can have a negative environmental impact. It is therefore important to minimize the shedding of microplastics by using effective washing techniques.
