Jute

Jute is a natural fiber that is derived from the stem of the jute plant, which can be harvested in less than 6 months. Because of its effective growth rate, less land is required to cultivate it. Also, jute relatively needs less water than cotton, largely relying on natural rainfall. Furthermore, the cultivation and processing of jute requires little need for fertilizer and pesticides, which reduces its environmental impact. To grow jute, a limited amount of pesticides is sometimes needed, mostly for anti-fungus and anti-insect purposes. Jute is a fast-growing plant with a high capacity for carbon absorption. 1 hectare of jute can absorb 15 tons of CO2 within 100 days.
